ABOUT ME!
I have always loved fashion, design and decorating, I studied them in college like a gazillion years ago. BUT, I am especially passionate about accessories.
Here's a little background on me;
For 15 years I worked in the wholesale industry working for various companies who represented manufacturers of jewelry, clothing, home décor, collectibles and a multitude of other cool cutting edge products. Working in the industry allowed me to travel to all the major trade shows in New York, Atlanta, and L.A. and follow the trends. What always gets my attention in style is the designer with a look all their own or maybe a new twist on a current or retro trend. I seek them out at shows and in the news. I do read the celeb rags and watch a little "E" News once in awhile to keep up with the current hot looks. I also read the tried and true mag's, Vanity Fare, InStyle, Vogue, "O" Magazine, Elle, Cottage Living, Lucky. For home decor I always refer back to my shabby chic books by Rachel Ashwell for inspiration. AND... to my Goddess, my mentor, OPRAH. I pretty much do everything she tells me to do. HUH!
So, back to accessories. I have to say I do like to give a new trend a spin once in awhile, but truthfully I always fall back to the classic long enduring fashion and decor. I love to shop for and surround myself with beautiful things. With that in mind, price is important to me, I am extravagant when it comes to certain things in life. BUT, everything we buy, especially for fun, does not have to be expensive. So, here at katiekay.com I will try my hardest to bring to your lives all the beauty you deserve at a reasonable price.
